Pichu

Pichu is an Ayurvedic treatment where warm medicated oil is applied using a soaked cotton pad on affected areas. It helps relieve pain, stiffness, and inflammation in joints, back, or head.

Pichu is a specialized Ayurvedic therapy derived from the ancient principles of Bahya Snehana (external oleation therapy). The term “Pichu” literally means padding or sponging, and it involves the external application of warm medicated oil using a sterile cotton pad.

In this treatment, a cotton pad is soaked in warm Ayurvedic oil and gently placed over the affected or painful area—such as the lower back, neck, shoulders, knees, or hip joints. The pad is kept in place for a specific duration, ranging from a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the severity and nature of the condition. To ensure proper retention and warmth, the area is often covered with a bandage or cloth wrap.

The therapy allows the medicinal oil to penetrate deeply into the tissues, relieving pain, reducing stiffness, and nourishing the joints and muscles. Pichu is especially beneficial for conditions like low back pain, osteoarthritis, cervical Spondylosis, and degenerative joint disorders.
