Kashaya dhara

Kashayadhara is an Ayurvedic therapy where warm herbal decoctions are poured continuously over the body or specific parts to detoxify, reduce inflammation, and calm the nervous system. It is especially beneficial for skin disorders, stress, and Pitta-related imbalances.

KashayaDhara is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy involving the continuous flow of medicated liquids such as herbal oils, decoctions, milk, or ghee over specific parts of the body or the entire body. This process induces gentle fomentation (Drava Sweda), promoting perspiration, detoxification, and deep relaxation.

Depending on the liquid used, Dhara can be performed with Kashayam (herbal decoction), Taila (oil), Ksheera (milk), or Ghritha (ghee). When a herbal decoction is used, the therapy is known as Kashayadhara.

The herbal ingredients, such as Dasamoola Kashayam, Nalpamaradi Kashayam, or Triphala Kashayam, are selected by an Ayurvedic physician based on individual health needs and body constitution (Prakriti).
