Uro vasthi
Under this Ayurveda therapy a gentle massage is applied all over the body
Uro Vasthi is a specialized Ayurvedic therapy designed to address various ailments related to the chest region, including heart conditions, respiratory disorders, asthma, breathlessness, and the after-effects of chronic smoking.
The term “Uro” refers to the chest region, while “Vasti” means “to hold or retain.” In this therapy, warm medicated oil is retained over the chest for a specific duration within a boundary made from black gram dough. The procedure is performed by trained Ayurvedic therapists under the guidance of a qualified physician, using oils chosen according to the patient’s condition and body constitution (Prakriti).
The warmth and medicinal properties of the oil penetrate deep into the tissues, helping to nourish and strengthen the cardiac and respiratory muscles, while also improving circulation in the chest area.
