Avagaham

Avagaham is an Ayurvedic therapy where the patient is immersed in a tub filled with warm medicated liquid or herbal decoction.

Avagaham is a therapeutic method of inducing sweating, in which the patient is seated in a tub filled with a warm herbal decoction. Depending on the condition being treated, suitable medicated oils may be applied to the body beforehand. The primary aim of this therapy is to induce sweating and thereby restore the natural movement of Vata within its normal pathways.

Mode of Action

Avagaham serves as a preparatory therapy for Panchakarma (cleansing treatments). The combined effect of oil application and induced sweating helps loosen and mobilize toxins, facilitating their elimination from the body. The therapy also alleviates pain and stiffness in the joints and back by promoting relaxation and improving circulation.
